The Performance Options tab is used to set up parallel hint settings specific to Portfolio execution tasks. A parallel hint is a special command applied to the system and executed in combination with SQL statements. Parallel SQL enables SQL statements to be processed by multiple threads simultaneously. Serial execution of SQL statements cannot make use of all the server processing power.

Override DBSource Parallel Settings option button is used to override all the parallel hint default settings specified on the Performance Options tab of the DBSource Setup screen3. If ‘Yes’ is selected, the system uses all the hint settings applied to the open Portfolio object. If ‘No’ is selected, all the other controls on the Performance tab are disabled and the system uses the parallel hint settings specified on the DBSource Setup screen.

Execute Enable-Parallelism Statement option button is used to initialize the execution of parallelism statement procedures. Using parallel hints, each SQL statement undergoes optimization and parallelization processes when it is parsed.

Include Parallel Hints for Insert option button is used to include parallel hints when running the SQL INSERT statement pre-defined in the system.

Include Parallel Hints for Select options button is used to include parallel hints when running the SQL SELECT statement pre-defined in the system.

Include Parallel Hints for Delete option button is used to include parallel hints when running the SQL DELETE statement pre-defined in the system.

Include Parallel Hints for Update options button is used to include parallel hints when running the SQL UPDATE statement pre-defined in the system.

Override DBSource Parallel Degree option button allows you to apply the Parallel Degree value entered in the PARALLEL Degree text box. The default value specified in the identical text box on the DBSource Setup screen is overridden in the Portfolio execution process.

PARALLEL Degree text box specifies the number of parallel execution servers associated with a single SQL operation. The only integer non-negative values can be entered in this box.
